it's what i had

for dinner.
Because I eat away my problems.
Because it was such a Monday.
Because I like chocolate.
Because people with big egos drive me crazy.
I am thinking I might make this a Monday night tradition while the strawberries are fresh.
Feel free to join me.
I feel much better.

{oh and because I am on a diet...and strawberries are healthy}

the celebration

The hubs birthday started out with this little guy waking daddy up in an outfit that he begged me to put on him...except I couldn't get the little guy to hold still for a picture.
Then Mike went golfing with his dad and brother, then we went to dinner with his parents, and then came back for presents, and cake & icecream.

Bigs went shopping with me the night before and picked out a hat to give his daddy. Jake has an obsession with his dad's hats and Mike saw this a few weeks ago and I wouldn't let him buy it for the babe. It's so funny, every time we put it on him he starts beaming and holds onto it, unlike the other hat that I bought for him. Once again, couldn't get him to sit still. And don't you love the Pj's? They go good together.

How is it that when you have a kid your birthdays are still their birthdays? Funny how that works. Don't worry, there were still presents that weren't for Jakey.

Happy Birthday to this great man of mine...

meet madeline

My son's first crush.
Is that okay if it's his cousin?
Every time Jake sees Maddie he starts jumping up and down, wiggling, and then a high pitched squeal comes out. It is hilarious. He knows how to give kisses and gives them freely (especially to this little princess). The only problem is that when he goes in for the kill he grabs your hair just to make sure you don't go anywhere. One time, when I wasn't watching super close, Maddie started crying and I told her Jakey was just giving her loves. A few minutes later I found a chunk of her hair in the little stinker's hand. Poor girl. No wonder why every time he starts to get close she gets this worried look on her face as if to say...Isn't anyone going to get him?

{Sad when you have to protect a 2 year old from an 8 month old}
Nice part (in his hair) huh? Little man.

Isn't she cute?

Although, I have a feeling that she can hold her own.

can you smell it?

T R O U B L E.
Jake has finally started getting good at the army crawl. It seems like it has taken him forever (which it kind of has). The hubs kept asking when he would do it, and I just kept saying to enjoy it. This little monkey has so much energy I have a feeling I am going to be in for it.
I am thinking the bar stools might have to start hanging out on the counter.

Doesn't he just look like he is trying to find something to get in to?

Found it.
Well at least one of the things.

the third of may?

7:35-7:50 p.m. Ran cookies to a few neighbors. (wearing shorts)
7:55-8:00 p.m. Started reading to Bigs.
8:01-8:04 p.m. Hear some light rain, heavy rain, and then...

I finally decided I couldn't read Green Eggs & Ham over what sounded like golf balls hitting a trailer park.
After the hailing had subsided...we found this bundle of joy on our front porch.
Why am I still amazed, annoyed, surprised, angered, excited about this crazy weather we have after 24+ years of living here?

Oh well. I guess when you find Dip n' Dots on your front porch on the third of May it is a sign that summer is just around the corner.
We'll see.
